The Hampshire Educational Collaborative developed the guidelines and resources below to support the pioneering teachers who embark on a Windows on History community service-learning project.
- Windows on History Project Overview - Illustrates the steps students and teachers follow to develop a local history website.
- Windows on History Web Page Outline - Outlines the elements that schools and student teams must include on their web sites.
- Storyboard Worksheet - Blank template for mapping out a website.
- Windows on History Elements of a Quality Web Site - Summarizes elements of high quality project web sites.
- Windows on History Hosting Options - Lists the options for schools that are part of the Emerging America program to host their local history web sites.
- Windows on History Web Page Templates - Basic templates for webpages in Dreamweaver and Kompozer (free Open Source web authoring software). Also includes a version you can edit in Notepad or TextEdit. (Windows users may see two folders, "WOH" and "__MACOSX", when you unzip the download. Disregard "__MACOSX" and open "WOH".)
