Waiting List
In the event that any Emerging America program fills, HEC will form a waiting list and notify participants that they are on the waiting list.  List order based on the following criteria. 

Emerging America TAH gives preference to teachers who:

  • Will be teaching history in Fall of 2008 (any grade level)
  • Will attend the 2008 summer programs as a team (may include non-Social Studies teachers as long as they teach history lessons or courses and/or are part of a team with a history teacher)

Emerging America TAH gives preference to teachers from (in order of preference):

  • HEC Members that joined the original grant proposal:
    • Amherst Regional Public School District
    • Belchertown School District
    • Hadley School District
    • Hatfield Public School Dist
    • Northampton School District
    • Smith Voc Agricultural School District
    • South Hadley School District
    • HEC Teachers (Special Education Teachers and Department of Youth Services Teachers)
  • Non-HEC Members that joined the original grant proposal:
    • Central Berkshire Regional School District
    • Ralph C Mahar Regional School District
    • Monson Public School District
    • Quaboag Reg School District
    • Spencer-East Brookfield Regional School District
  • Other HEC members (Frontier Regional and Ware)
  • Other Massachusetts Department of Youth Services teachers
  • Other Western Massachusetts school districts (including Easthampton), public charter schools, and private schools (no stipends to private school teachers)

Emerging America TAH will accept on a space-available basis (in order or preference):

  1. Graduate Students who are placed with participating schools
  2. Teachers from other regions of Massachusetts
  3. Teachers who do not have a teaching position in Fall 2008
  4. Teachers from neighboring states
  5. Other Graduate students
